Megan Anna Rapinoe grew up in California, Redding. Her birthplace was on the 5th of July 1985. The soccer abilities she developed were sharpened throughout her teenage years. The forward scored two goals in only eight games, helping bring the magicJack to third-place finish in the league in the same season. The magicJack was dissolved in the latter part of 2011. Then, the WPS was dissolved in early in 2012. In 2011 Rapinoe played some games for Sydney Football Club FC of the Australian W-League before returning to the United States. Her next team was in the Seattle Washington Sounders Women now known as the Sound FC. In 2013, Rapinoe spent her time playing soccer in France. She was a member of Seattle Reign FC, now OL Reign in the National Women's Soccer League NWSL which was formed in the wake of the demise of WPS. Rapinoe was a participant in her 2nd Olympics which took place in Rio de Janeiro Brazil. The U.S. squad was eliminated from the event in Rio. The first time Rapinoe played in the FIFA Women's World Cup was in the year 2011. Her contributions was instrumental in helping in helping the U.S. Women's World Cup to win consecutive championships between 2015 and 2019. In 2018, she was named cocaptain. Rapinoe, who scored two goals for the United States in the 4-3 win over Australia during the bronze Olympic medal match in Tokyo in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that Japan had to delay until 2021 as a result of this pandemic, also won the gold in Tokyo in 2016.
